The Iraqi Athletics Federation is to organise the third edition of the International Half Marathon in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad

In sponsorship of the Prime Minister, Eng. Mohammed Shiaa Al-Sudani, the Iraqi Athletics Federation is organizing the third edition of the International Half Marathon in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, under the slogan "Baghdad of Love and Peace." The event will take place on the second of February, with the participation of 52 countries.

The current edition of the Half Marathon is the largest in terms of participation, as the Iraqi Athletics Federation invited a number of countries, and 52 countries confirmed their participation in this international event, which will be held in the capital, Baghdad.

The federation has allocated significant financial prizes for the top winners of the race, with the participation of international long-distance stars representing the 52 countries that announced their participation. These countries include Ethiopia, Jordan, Spain, Afghanistan, Angola, the United Arab Emirates, Uganda, Iran, Pakistan, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Botswana, Belize, Honduras, Turkey, Chad, Tanzania, Tunisia, Algeria, South Sudan, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Syria, Sweden, China, Tajikistan, Gambia, Guinea-Bissau, France, Finland, Kyrgyzstan, Qatar, Canada, Kuwait, Kenya, Laos, Lebanon, Liberia, Libya, Lesotho, Maldives, Oman, Egypt, Morocco, Malawi, Mongolia, Mauritius, Mozambique, Myanmar, Niger, Nigeria, India, Yemen, Togo, East Timor, Vietnam, Cambodia, and Nepal.
