In sponsorship of the Prime Minister, Eng. Mohammed Shiaa Al-Sudani, the Iraqi Athletics Federation is organizing the third edition of the International Half Marathon in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, under the slogan "Baghdad of Love and Peace." The event will take place on the second of February, with the participation of 52 countries.

The Asian Federation honored Dr. Taleb Faisal Al-Saffar, the President of the Iraqi Athletics Federation, with the golden badge for being chosen as the best sports administrative leader. He has led and served athletics in Asia throughout his sports career.

The Iraqi national team players won new gold and bronze medals to be added to the Iraqi delegation participating in the Nowruz Jah Games in the Iranian capital, Tehran.
